Look, we know that there aren’t many black bears in Ohio… but Black Bear Bakery is inspired by our late cat, Olivia, who looked just like a little bear. She was with us through our rockiest valleys and our highest peaks. Our dream of starting this home bakery was greatly kickstarted by this little bundle of joy, but we would not start it until our home was free of animals. Her passing was a sorrowful door that opened a new chapter in our lives.

My name is Sarah Long and I have a passion and desire from God to officially start this journey. I have a degree in Pastry Arts and worked in a bakery for a few years, but it took many more years of putting it off to realize my dream of baking on my own as a living! My husband and I have been gifting our sweet treats for many years now, but it is time to build a business to bring a bit of brightness to this world through baked goods!
